No To Pain Medication!!

2 Sweet Notes
Being pregnant is so much fun! Aside from the fact that you are treated extra special, knowing that you're rearing a child inside you that you and your husband both created with so much love, just makes the journey even more worthwhile. Nothing can ever compare to the feeling of bringing a new life into this world and playing a huge part in the circle of life.

But as we all know, pregnancy also comes with a lot of discomforts. There are even those you can't describe or some pains that you don't even know what their cure is. It is during this time when you get to the point of wishing you can fast forward time and just get the whole pregnancy done and over with no matter how much you're enjoying the feeling of being pregnant.

In my case, having been pregnant back to back to back, pregnancy discomforts are no longer new to me. In fact, there are even some that I've actually gotten so used to that they don't bother me at all anymore. I've developed migraine, severe lower back pain, difficulty of breathing, edginess at times, dizziness, leg cramps, and a whole lot more. But ever since my first pregnancy, taking pain medication has never been an option to me. My whole thing was and is, as long as the pain is tolerable, I am not going to take any medication to alleviate it. I don't care if the doctor said it's safe, medicine is still medicine and as much as possible, I don't want myself to get too used to it and end up being dependent; not to mention the effects it can possibly cause the baby's development, may it be too little or futile. For me, prevention is always better than cure. And, I have never been a big fan of taking pain relievers, anyway even before I got married so I know I'll be just fine.

But of course, on the day of my delivery, Epidural analgesia is a MUST!! [hehehe] That's when I can only take so much pain. But for now, I will just suck it up and enjoy the every bit of joy and all of these sweet, sweet pains this pregnancy brings. Before we know, it's already time to push. :)

Saturday 9: St. Patrick's Day

Leave A Note

Saint Patrick's Day (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig) is a religious holiday celebrated internationally on 17 March. It is named after Saint Patrick (c. AD 387–461), the most commonly recognised of the patron saints of Ireland. It is observed by the Roman Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion (especially the Church of Ireland),[1] the Eastern Orthodox Church and Lutherans. Saint Patrick's Day was made an official feast day in the early 17th century, but has gradually become more of a secular celebration of Irish culture.

(source: Wikipedia)

1. St. Patrick's Day is March 17th (Thursday). Do you celebrate and wear green? Drink Green Beer? Ignore it?
- Being a Filipino, I really am not accustomed to celebrating St. Patrick's Day regardless of the fact that I am married to an American and living here in the US now. This year would be my second St. Patrick's Day, but it's going to be pretty much a normal day in our household. I can't say we totally ignore it, but we don't follow the traditional ways of celebrating this occasion. The only thing, I should say, that I started somewhat "following" is, wearing something that at least has a green color on it to basically avoid "getting pinched". [hehehe]

2. If a leprechaun told you that you could have any amount of money from his pot of gold but it had to be a specified amount for a specified item, how much would you ask for and what would it be for?

- Just one item? Hmmm...I'd probably ask for $5M!! No, seriously I'd ask for that big amount. And what would it be for? To buy us a nice house that's big enough for us and the rest, get a car and use some to help needy people :)

3. One of the symbols of St. Patrick's Day is the leprechaun. Name a celebrity that you think would look good as a leprechaun. Name a celebrity that would look ridiculous as a leprechaun. Is there any one celebrity that would make a really scary leprechaun?

- For the first one, I would pick Dakota Fanning :) She's just too adorable!! For the ridiculous one, probably Will Ferrell :) He's naturally funny already and I like him. :) And for the scary one, Derek Mears, the guy who's best known for his role as Jason in the movie Friday the 13th.

4. For a prize of $1,000,000,000 you are challenged to make yourself a costume for a St. Patricks Day party. The ONLY rules are that you aren't allow to use clothing and it has to be green. Using anything other than clothing, describe your costume to us using ANYTHING else in the house.
- A green-colored gown fit for a leprechaun with matching slippers made out of cardboard boxes and paper towels. :)

5. What day of the week is your busiest? Tell us about your schedule.
- Usually the weekdays when my husband is at work from dawn till dusk. I am the only one taking care of the kids and doing as much household chores as I can. He helps me out a lot on weekends.

6. No matter what's going on in your life, what always makes you smile?

- The thought that I am truly blessed for having a great husband, 2 beautiful and healthy boys, and now, a baby girl on the way. :)

7. Of all the clothes you own, what do you feel most comfortable wearing, and why?
- Jeans and shirts. I am able to move around more comfortably.

8. On what television show—either past or present—would you like to make to make a guest appearance, and what role would you play?
- Full House (Korean TV Series). I would love to play the role as Justin's (played by Rain) love interest even just for one appearance. [hehehe] I just like him a lot!! ;)

9. What else is on your mind? Go ahead and rant.
- I can't believe that it's been almost 2 years since I got here in the US and I can't wait to go home for a visit. I just miss my family so much and it does suck being this far away from them and not being able to see them whenever I want to. And I miss Filipino foods!! It's even harder now that I am pregnant. I crave for foods that I can never have!! :(

Pregnancy Update [Baby #3]: At 26 Weeks

2 Sweet Notes
Today, I'm currently at my 26th week and one day of my 3rd pregnancy. If the baby decides to stay till her full term, I'd still have 14 weeks left before I give birth. It still is a long way to go, but the closer it gets, the more I can't wait to finally see our little Princess!!Photobucket

So far, pregnancy discomforts are getting worse. [hehehe] I'm almost done with the second trimester but it still feels like it's the beginning of my pregnancy. Not complaining or anything, but having to take care of two kids and me feeling queasy most the time doesn't make it any easier for me. I love being pregnant! I just don't like the discomforts that come along with it.

As far as cravings, I should say I'm getting better. I don't crave for foods most of the time anymore and if I do, they're usually sweets. And mind you, it always takes a lot of convincing my husband before he goes out and buy me what I want. Not that he doesn't want to get it for me. He's just more on being health-conscious and he knows pretty well that too much intake of sweets is not good for both me and our baby. He will buy me sweets like chocolates, cupcakes, cookies, cake, and brownies but he will limit how much I eat in a day. But of course, if he's at work, I get to eat "a little bit" more than he said I could have. [hehe] And my usual response to that? -- "I am eating for two and you know that!!" [hehehe]

Hopefully, the coming weeks won't be as rough as the past few ones I've been through. I just want to enjoy the rest of my pregnancy while taking care of my boys at the same time.

But above all, I will forever be grateful to God for everything!!

GT: He Had Me From Hello

4 Sweet Notes
From the moment my husband dedicated this song to me during the time when we were still dating (almost 5 years ago), it has been my favorite song for the two of us. This song just says it all and still is the perfect one to describe how everything between us started. And every time I listen to it, it still never fails to give me the same feeling I had on that day I heard it for the first time - the feeling of wanting to just hug and kiss my husband so passionately and whisper softly in his ear how much I love him.Photobucket I will never get tired listening to this song over and over.

The song is "You Had Me From Hello" by Kenny Chesney. (This is a video he made for me with the song. Just click on the link I provided. I couldn't embed the code because he set it to private, I think.)

Saturday 9: Medicate

Leave A Note
Here is my first entry for the month of March...

1. Do you take a lot of medication?
- No, I don't. I honestly don't like taking medicines as much as possible. Right now, I am only taking my prenatal vitamins and that's about it. No pain medication for pain, either.

2. Name one of your flaws and tell us about it.
- I tend to keep my feelings to myself. Most of the time, I choose to keep quiet and not say a thing about how I feel, especially when it comes to me being hurt or upset.

3. Have you ever won first place? If yes, tell us about your victory!
- Yes, I have. Actually, a lot of times already. But there's this one competition where I won first place that will always be special to me; it was a singing contest I joined in when I was in 4th grade. And why that one is special? Because it was the very first singing contest I joined and the first time I ever sang in public. I don't sing in public. At least not solo. [hehehe]

4. Who is the last person to make you smile? What was happening?
- Actually, 2 little persons; my two kids. They were talking to each other using a language of their own. And I bet, they didn't even understand each other that much because the older one was laughing and the youngest had that look on his face as if trying to ask why his brother was doing that.

5. Describe a time when you should have tried harder.
- Just this past Valentine's Day. I tried sending my husband an e-card but the website kept saying my card was a spam and wouldn't let me send it to him. The result, I wasn't able to send him anything and that made me feel really, really bad.Photobucket I should have tried other websites but that totally slipped out of my mind. Trust me, I still feel bad up to now.

6. What are you best at?
- Being a Mother to our kids and a Military wife. Photobucket

7. If someone was going to make a movie or TV show about your life, who would play you and why?
- Maja Salvador. I like her because she doesn't have to try so hard to act and yet, she does it very well. It's like, acting comes out of her naturally and I want someone like that to portray me.

8. Name 3 things that you think are strange.
- pierced tongue
- a body covered in tattoo
- people wearing big earrings that create those big holes on their earlobes. (I find that icky..)

9. What is one lesson you have learned in the past 12 months?
- Time management Photobucket (and still working on it..hehe come on, I need time..)

GT: Songs I Hate The Most!!

3 Sweet Notes
My first ever post for Girls Talk...Photobucket

Just because I love music so much doesn't mean there aren't songs that I strongly dislike listening to. Those are the songs I have heard playing that contain very abhorrent words. Words that I don't think should have been allowed to be used in such a way knowing music can be understood by everyone regardless of age. I literally had goosebumps all over me when I overheard one of those songs playing. Inasmuch as I didn't want to listen to it, I got curious at how the song actually goes that made it somewhat a big hit. I gave it a minute or two and what I heard just dejected me completely! Photobucket All I heard were words like "M.F., F.U., B***H" and a lot more too disturbing for me to write down. I wasn't able to stand the whole song. I had to ask my husband to change it to something else. (No, he wasn't listening to those songs, either. We were listening music on Pandora and the station just changed on us.)

I cannot remember the title of that song I heard and neither would I care to find out what it was. All I know is, it's one of those rap-type of songs that some, if not most of the younger generation nowadays loves to listen to. The beat of the song is not even something I can call a "music". It's more of a "noise". Ugh, if only I have the authority and power to go to all recording companies and have them ban songs like that one I heard, I would do it in a heartbeat!

Music Photobucket is suppose to make us happy, inspire us, make us feel relaxed, console us -- not make us feel disturbed and disgusted. I wish they'd stop making songs like that and I wish people would not support such type of music. I understand that we have freedom of speech and freedom to express one's feelings, thoughts, and opinion. But do we really have to go to that extent where we have to use repugnant words just to express ourselves through music knowing there's a possibility that such types of songs may taint the minds of the innocent ones who can hear it? Aren't there any other ways to do so?

Are the people doing that really after the idea of "being able to express themselves and be heard by the public", or they're just after the money and fame?! If they're after the latter, then it's a shame!

It's A Baby Girl!!

Leave A Note

You read it right ;) We're expecting a baby girl soon! This is one of the many reasons I wasn't able to go back to blogging as planned. Aside from taking care of 2 hyperactive little boys, I have also been experiencing pregnancy discomforts and it's taking its toll on me.

I am almost at 25 weeks now but I still feel weak and tired most of the time. I must say, this pregnancy took the biggest slice of the cake. I have twice as much discomforts compared to my two previous pregnancies. I don't know if having a girl this time has something to do with different hormonal changes. And even if I am still feeling queasy most of the time, I wouldn't want it any other way. I feel so blessed and happy for having two healthy boys and now a little girl on the way!

All we pray is, for the pregnancy to go along smoothly till the day of my delivery and for me and the baby to stay/be healthy.

As far as the baby's name, well, we already picked one and we know it will be just perfect for our little Princess. And again, of course, my husband chose the names and we put them together. So for now, we will leave you with, "Baby K". Her name starts with letter K. ;)
