WW: The Dress that Made Me Drool

2 Sweet Notes
I found this dress on Pinterest last night while I was browsing through the Women's Fashion section.  I must say, this one literally made me drool!

You see, I really am not a big fan of fashion or what's in.  But when I like something, I like it, especially when it's simple but yet elegant - no questions asked.  It really takes a lot for me to like something because I don't like clothes that are too gaudy.  For me, fashion is still wearing whatever is comfortable on you.  I don't follow any specific trends.  I go by my own style.

Anyway, I know this, for sure, is a wedding gown.  But what I love about it is, its elegance and simplicity.  The back looks so sexy, admit it!  Actually, the whole dress does, but in a modest way.  The bow in the back, oh, that's the killer right there!  Not a lot of details to it, but it's perfect enough to make people turn their heads towards you and say, "Wow, you look gorgeous in that dress!"  That's the type of dress/outfit I want.  Something that won't overpower you.  Remember, it's the person who makes the dress, not the dress who makes the person look beautiful.  And if ever I get to own one, I would love for it to be in a different color.  I mean, I don't need a wedding gown anymore since I'm already married.  Maybe later on to renew our vows, but not anytime soon.

I love green, so any color that has the shade of green will do.  It's perfect for special occasions, like formal parties, Navy Ball, Khaki Ball.  I mentioned them because I am a Navy spouse, and those are the occasions my husband and I usually go to.  I wore a black dress at the Khaki Ball last year, and next year, I want something different.  I think black is already so timeworn, don't you think?

SS: The SCARY Meme

5 Sweet Notes
Last Sunday of October, and oh, it is Halloween!  I'm actually grinning from ear to ear right now because for the first time in a long time, I got to do Sunday Stealing ON TIME.  Yay to that!  I'm going to do this really quick because I need to be in bed.  Hubby said we're taking our kiddos to go trick or treating tomorrow - for the first time.  It's going to be a lot of fun - and expect a little, if not too much, chaos.  [Hehehe.]

 1) What do you think is the best costume for Halloween?
- For me, a HOT & SEXY Witch Princess costume.. Hehehe.. I really don't know, honestly.  But I've always been fascinated with Witch costumes, and I love being a Princess! (Who doesn't?)Photobucket

2) What would an alien think of humans if it came to Earth on Halloween?
- They'd probably think they invaded the wrong planet.. Hehehe..

3) Who Would you haunt?
- Someone I used to love.  Hehe.. But that would be later on -- if I'm dead.. I'll make my presence known to him. BOO!Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

4) Are you afraid of the dark?
-  Not that I'm scared of it.  But I have nyctalopia, so I really don't like being in the dark.

5) Do you pass out candy, or hide with the lights off?
- We do pass out candies to kids and not-so-little ones every Halloween.. It's kind of like our family's tradition now.. And we will never hide with the lights off, ever!

6) What Scary movie do you like best?
- I love scary movies!  I don't have any favorites because I enjoy watching them no matter what.

7) If you had to wear a costume for a week, what would you be?
- A witch Nurse.. I know.  Weird, right?

8) What do you think about Ouija boards?
- E.V.I.L. Something you must not even dare to want to try...

9) Have you ever told ghost stories around a fire?
- Yes, when I was a little kid.  I loved, and I still love those type of stories.

10) Trick? or Treat?
- Trick.  And it better be a good one.. HehehePhotobucket

Changing my blog's colors, from background to fonts. After spending hours of tweaking codes and changing its layout, my brain and eyes definitely need a break.

I already got the new layout that I've been wanting for so long - 4 columns with 3 footer widgets.  I don't know how many attempts I made to make it right.  I almost gave up!  As crazy as it may sound to you, but I sacrificed hours of sleep to get it done.  I cannot afford to pay someone to re-design my whole blog with everything I want in it without having to pay a lot of money.  That's why, like what I said, I have to learn things on my own.  I sacrifice my hours of sleep because this is the only time my kids don't need me.  I don't want to sit here in front of the computer during the day because I spend time with them.

Anyway, back to the changing of my blog's color issue.  I will probably do it some other time.  I still want to (attempt) do some Photoshop images and backgrounds as well.  I also need time to learn more about Photoshop so I can create cute images that I only get to see online.  I just don't understand why it has to be so complicated to use!  Argh!

So, for now, my blog's design will stay the same.  I'll just work on it one day at a time and hopefully get everything done soon.  Now, I'll focus more on blogging than redesigning my blog...  Fair enough!?

UPDATE:

Obviously, I did change the colors.  I got tired wondering what if..  Now, I just need an easy tutorial on how to make a transparent signature using Photoshop for my post section.  (Sigh.)  Why does it have to be so complicated!?Photobucket

My New Pastime

Leave A Note
Since I took a break from working out a couple of months ago, I got myself back into doing DIY and crafts.  I've had this passion ever since I was a kid, but kind of laid low when I got into college because of my studies.  And now, being a stay-at-home mother to 3 toddlers, schedule has gotten even more hectic for me.  Twenty-four hours definitely aren't enough to fit everything I want to accomplish in a day.

Taking a break opened more time for me to do other things that I haven't done in a long time.  And I couldn't be more happier to have done what I did because only then did I realize the things I've been missing for a while now.  Like doing crafts, a little carpentry, decorating our house, and gardening.  Well, not a full on gardening, though.  Unfortunately, we don't have the space for that.  But I re-purposed some of the milk cans that we had and used them as my plant pots, like what my Grandma did back home.  I grew flowers and herbs.

What I did was, I dug through my husband's old stuff in the basement and found a lot of things that I recycled and re-purposed for the house.  I wanted to do other things, but we don't have enough tools and materials for me to do more carpentry work.  So, I did more crafting.

Crafting is definitely fun!  That, I am sure.  I can't even tell you how much time I spend on doing crafts.  That's where most of my free time goes to when I have something I want to get done.  I may not have all the tools I need, but somehow, I make things work.

But sometimes, to be honest, I don't find it fun cutting papers and stuff, especially when the pattern is small and detailed.  I only have a big pair of scissors that I use all the time.  My small craft scissors got broken and I haven't got the chance to get a new one yet.  If I do, I'm going to get me 2 pairs of scissors and two spring loaded knives - the other one is extra, in case I end up breaking one of them.  I actually like the latter one because I love making back cover decor for my iPhone case.  I already made 2 before, and I still want to make some more so I'll have different ones to use.  I tell you what, cutting that hole for the back camera was a pain in the brain, that's why next time, I'm going to use that type of knife.  I should've thought about that a long time ago.

Here are some of my DIYs and crafts:
Re-purposed old coasters.  I turned them into fridge magnest ;)

Back cover for iPhone.  I used scrapbook paper.

A wooden magazine rack that I turned into a corner shelf

I enjoy being "Me" once more.  I mean, these are the things that I loved doing when I was younger.  I'm just glad and thankful that my hands never forgot the skills they've been divested of for years now.  There were things I thought I've forgotten.  But once I got into them, everything came back naturally.

I am not a pro when it comes to DIY and crafts.  I learn new things along the way.  For me, that's one of the things that make it more fun - you discover more while you explore deeper.  And I want to learn more!  I want to learn as many craft ideas as I possible can.  And that's a promise!

What about you?  What is your pastime?

Hello, Working Out! I'm Back!

Leave A Note
It's probably been three months now since the last time I did my workout.  I decided to give myself a break because I have already lost so much pounds in a short amount of time.  And even after not working out for that long, I still weigh under 100 lbs right now.  I need to gain some pounds back because I am underweight now for my age.

My actual plan was to take a break till Springtime.  Yes, I was going to hibernate the whole winter season away.  But things might have just changed because of something that hubby brought home from work today.  I'm not going to lie, it has gotten me all so excited and, yet again, motivated to continue on working out.

I'm talking about the Body Shape Kit Plus | Life Fitness.  This kit is perfect for me because I don't plan on doing extreme workout right now.  I'm going to focus more on cardio and abs, and the Body Shape Kit has everything I need for the type of workouts I have in mind.

We looked at the equipment in the box tonight and tried out some, and wow, I honestly can't wait to start using them!  I tried one of the resistance tubes, and I could tell, it's really been a while for me not working out because when I pulled and stretched both of my arms sideways, my shoulders popped.  My body is screaming for a payback! (Hahaha!)

I'm not going to lie, though, I did miss working out, especially with my husband.  I hope we get to do it again soon.

FYI, I weighed myself this morning, you know, just for the sake of it.  And I weigh 99lbs - amazingly low!  I know, I know, trust me.  Just few more pounds to gain and more defined body muscles, and I'm good.  That's my goal right there.  Nothing more, nothing less.  And I'm going to achieve it!  If that means cutting out my not-so-healthy diet again, then, so be it.  Well, not completely.  (For a chocolate addict like me, that might take just a little time, but I'll make it work, don't worry.)  Sweets?  Ah, maybe once in a while?  I'm all about watching what I eat, but man, can it be so hard sometimes!

Yes, I know, the sacrifices you need to take in the name of staying healthy and fit.

Here are the key features of this amazing kit:

    Heart Rate/Pedometer Watch
    2 Multi-Program Exercise DVDs
    Premium Equipment Mat (optional)
    Double-grip Medicine Ball
65 cm Non-rolling Balance Ball and Pump
    2 Comfortable Hand Weights
    2 Resistance Tubes
    2 Resistance Rings
    Plush Foam Roller
    Eco-Friendly Stretch Mat
    Fitness Towel
    Personal Program Planner
    Exercise Guide

Blog is Under Construction - again...

Leave A Note
I am in the middle of reconstructing my blog right now. I'm trying to change its color but couldn't decide yet on what colors to use. There's just so many things I want to do, but I'm working under my kids' schedule right now, so it's a little tough on me to get things done when I want them to.  But that's fine.  Mother's responsibilities come first no matter what.

Anyway, I'm working on one thing at a time.  That's one reason I've been staying up late these past couple of nights because that's the only time when I get to work on this blog without interruptions because everyone, but me, is asleep.  I can focus on what I'm doing, and I need that especially when I am tweaking codes.  I'm almost done with the blog's template, and next would be changing the colors.  That's one time-consuming thing to do that I honestly dread because not only do I need to change the background and everything, I also need to change font colors, and that can take time.  Inasmuch as I want to just stick to my blog's current design now, I think it's about time to give it a little make-over.  It's been over a year now since the last time I redesigned the entire blog.  Yes, no doubt, it's that time again.

And since I really don't like purchasing templates online, I learned how to do everything on my own.  Thanks to all the informative tutorials online!  Without which, I would have never done any of this myself.  I owe every credit my blog has, to them.

What the!?

Leave A Note
It's already 12 past 3 AM. I should have already been in bed hours ago. For some reason, I couldn't sleep.  I can blame it on the coffee I just had an hour ago, but even before I had it, I wasn't tired at all.  I tried browsing on the net just to check on some stuff, but I got bored.  I tried reading some blogs, but I couldn't even finish one post.  I think I might just go lay down, watch a movie on Netflix on the iPad, maybe that might make me sleepy.  Another thing is, I don't want my husband to catch me still up at this hour because he doesn't like me staying up this late.  I might get my butt handed to me if he caught me doing what I'm doing right now when I'm suppose to already be in bed.

Well, maybe when I wake up later on, I might actually come up with something more sensible to write.  For now, off to bed I go...

SS: Who Are you? Part 2–The Grown Up Meme

Leave A Note
Part 2 of this meme already! Where did the part 1 go? Did I just miss it again? [Hehehe.]  I guess I need to put a reminder for this one so I won't have to miss a single one next time...

 15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
- Happy and loved. =)

16. What is your earliest memory?
- I had a rag doll that I named Kikay when I was about 5 or 6.  One time, I soaked it in a bucket of water (trying to give it a bath) and left it there the entire night.  The next day, my Grandpa found my doll, took it and hung it to dry.  Then, he talked to me and told me that if I don't take care of it next time, it'll catch cold, or worse, pneumonia from being soaked for that long, and I won't have a doll to play with anymore.  I got scared, and that never happened again!

17. How much schooling have you had?
- I went all the way to college.

18. Did you enjoy school?
- I will be a hypocrite if I told you I didn't, though, there were times I wished school didn't have to take too long for you to finish. But now when I look back, I actually miss being a student.

19. Stop and count, Since you were born until today; how many homes have you lived in?
- Six, if apartments count.  First, where I grew up. Then, the 2 apartments we lived in when we went to college in the city.  Fourth one would be our friends' house in California where we stayed for a month when I first got here.  After that, we moved to our own place where we lived for a year.  And lastly, the home we're living in now.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models?
Yes, of course.  My Grandparents and parents. =)

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
- We all get along well because we all love and respect each other.  We didn't have to do anything extra special to please anyone.

My Little Boys are Learning Tagalog!

10 Sweet Notes
No words, honestly, can ever express how happy and proud I am of my little boys, Kai and Kaden! Not only are they learning Tagalog words, they can now sing two lines from a Tagalog Christmas song that they just heard playing on YouTube.  The amazing part is, I really didn't teach them the words of the song. They learned them on their own. But of course, I would correct them if they said the word incorrectly, but that's about it.  I'm teaching them the "Bahay Kubo" song as well.  And it's so cute listening to them singing with their little American accent. (Hehehe.)

Our boys taken at the outlet store in Oklahoma City in July during our trip
Teaching my children how to speak and understand my language (Tagalog) has been my goal, too even before we had them.  And it will be an accomplishment for me if I end up being successful.  No offense, but as much as possible, I don't want my children to not at least understand or speak a few Tagalog words like the other kids (half Filipino half American, or even pure Filipino) here in the US.  I have met some and talked to them so I know.  I don't have anything bad against them.  All I'm saying is, it would have been better if they knew how to talk in Tagalog and can actually understand it, too at the same time.  I mean, after all, they're still Filipinos.

Perfect example is, my cousin.  He was born and is residing here in the US.  My mother told me that when they went home last May, he often would get bored because nobody would dare talk to him because of the language differences.  He couldn't understand Tagalog, and my cousins could not really speak English fluently.  So most of the time, he was left all by himself while the rest hung out together and were having fun.  Now, that's something I would not want my kids to go through.

Onion Saver

Leave A Note
My husband came home one evening from grocery shopping and bought me this onion saver.  I actually was surprised because I never thought there's something like it.  He said he saw it and he thought I might like to have one since I love to cook and when I have leftover onion, I just put it in a resealable plastic bag.  I'm so glad he got this for me when he did!  Now, I don't have to worry about getting my leftover onion spoiled anymore.

I honestly like it, though I was told there's something even nicer than this.  I really don't care as long as I know I have something that I can use now.  And to think that my husband thought about me when he saw it, I think that just made it even more better!

I already used it almost immediately after I got it.  It's got half of an onion in it that's been sitting in the fridge for almost two days now, and so far, it's staying fresh.  It did say that it can be used to store other spices/herbs, anything to keep it fresh for a longer period of time.  That's why I will get a couple more of this just in case I need extra ones later on.  It's really handy.  And for moms/wives like me who love to cook, I think you'll like this one, too, if you don't have it yet.

Creating Your Own Music

Leave A Note
I don't know how many time I've actually mentioned here how much I love music.  I am a natural-born music lover.  It's in my blood.  Both of my parents' sides are into music.  That's where I got it from, and why I love it so much.

Anyway, my husband, too loves music.  He may not be into instruments, but his late father was, in fact, the best steel guitar player in Nebraska back in those days.  But when it comes to making his own beat/sound, singing, rapping, among other things, I must say, my husband is pretty good at them!  I love it when he starts composing his own lyrics and creating his own sound, and putting them into a short song.

Honestly, I think if we only have the right instruments in our house, we could probably pull it off.  I'm talking about creating our own music at home.  I came across this classic E Mu online store and saw some stuff that people usually use to mix sounds from different instruments, creating their own music.  That would be awesome, don't you think!?

I already have a guitar.  But, I've been wanting a keyboard as well since I know how to play it, too.  That's one thing I'm planning to invest in - instruments.  I want to introduce them to my kids and see which ones they like, then, we can go from there.  I want to have a house filled with music!  I want my kids to experience the same joy I had while growing up being exposed to music.  I know they will love it, too.  As  a matter of fact, my two boys already know how to move to the beat of the song, and all three of my kids are showing early signs of being a music lover just like me and their Papa.  We will definitely nurture the talents and skills we find in them, but of course, without forcing them.  They have to learn how to love what they have, on their own.

I'm Loving My New Hairstyle!

Leave A Note
First and foremost, a big THANK YOU to my wonderful Mother-in-law for treating me out for a haircut! The best one I've had in 3 years!
To be exact, it's been 10 years now since the last time I cut my hair really short.  The last time was way back in 2002 when I was in first year college.  I loved it then, but when it grew back, I never cut it above shoulder-length again, till now.

I've been wanting a short hairstyle for the longest time now, but I literally couldn't find a good hair cutter here who knows the type of style I've been wanting.  It's like, every time I get a haircut, it's a waste of money.  I would tell them what I want, but the end result is barely close to the style I wanted.  It got so frustrated to the point where I tried cutting my own hair.  But of course, it didn't go well, obviously.  One side was shorter than the other.  (Hahaha!)  My husband called me out on that, but at least I got nobody to blame but me.

So, when we went to Oklahoma in July to visit my husband's family, I decided to get a haircut.  Good thing, my Mother-in-law knows somebody who always does her hair.  She took me and her mom out to that salon, and we all had our hair done.

And, I wasn't wrong!  For $18, I finally got the hairstyle that I've been wanting so badly in a long time!  It's kind of funny because I keep telling my husband, we had to travel that far for me to find a good hairdresser.  Where we live in, haircut costs more, but you won't get what you want, therefore, it's almost like you just gave your money away.

Anyway, why I love shorter hair?

Aside from the fact that it's low maintenance, having 3 kids, it saves me time to get around if we need to go somewhere.  And, I love the fact that it's easier to style shorter hair, and there are actually a lot of cute hairstyles that you can do yourself.  I'm learning some, and I'm loving them!

So for now, I must say, I probably won't grow my hair long for a while.  I've had long hair for 10 years, I think it's about time I try something new-for a change.

SS: Stealing's Last Meme with Bud

Leave A Note
Well, obviously, you can tell I haven't been on here for a while because the title itself says "Last" part of this meme with Bud.  I don't know what it means exactly, but it's clear that this is not the first part of it as I'm starting from #41.  But, better late than never, right?  I'm actually already sleepy, but I'll do this first.

44. WHAT HAPPENED THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?

Scented Candles Online? Why Not?

Leave A Note
Between me and my husband, he loves scented candles more than I do.  I mean, I love them, too, but I don't use them as much as he does.  He loves lighting up candles around the house because they make the whole surrounding smell good.  He even makes sure we don't run low on our stock.  To me, that's cute!  When he gets free time, he would drive to the outlet stores to buy candles.  But I think, sometimes, it would be more convenient if we can just purchase them online.  I know shipping costs money, but I think gas is more expensive than that, especially when you're only buying a couple pieces.  I don't think it's worth it.

He likes a particular brand of scented candles, but I think he won't mind trying out something new like the  diptyque candles at smallflower.com, just for a change.  They may not be the ones we're accustomed to, but who knows, we might find some candles that we could end up liking just as much.  I'm not picky when it comes to that, and neither is he.  As long as they smell good, that's fine with us.

He already said he might buy some candles for the Fall/Halloween season, so if we find a great deal from that website, it probably is worth a shot, isn't it?

Dilemma

Leave A Note
My husband came home last night with his new phone in his hand.  He got himself the Samsung Galaxy S3, and to be honest, it looks so awesome!  He went ahead and got his old phone replaced because it's been acting up on him for like months now.  He's been wanting to get a new phone, but he decided to hold off and wait on something better.  And I bet he's glad that he did wait!

Now, watching him play with his new phone kind of made me think if I would go for another iPhone, or should I get the same phone that he has.  My brother-in-law got the new iPhone, and he told me it's so cool, and that I will actually love it.  I'm a little confused now on whether I should or should not get the iPhone.  My husband already said he'll order the iPhone next week.  I still have time to change my mind if I want to.

I don't know, really.  I'm just confused at this point because both phones really look nice.  I've been an iPhone user since I got here in the States and haven't tried any other phones yet, so I'm pretty much open to the thought of trying out something different.  You know, just saying.

Missing Those Days!

Leave A Note
I'm not going to lie, I miss having a little baby in the house!  Our youngest is already a year and three months old, so she's already considered a toddler.  I don't know, I guess I just miss those times when I can still hold them, lay them down on my chest without them resisting, and I can give them kisses without them trying to run away from me.  Yes, my little ones are already doing that kind of thing, and I personally am saddened by the fact that they've actually grown up-that quick!

Looking at their infant stuff now, I couldn't help but miss the little ones that used to fit in them.  That's one bittersweet reality that a parent like me has to deal with.  I can feel sad, but there's nothing really I could do but just hold on to those beautiful memories of my kids when they were that little.  And since we've already got 3 kids, I don't think we're still open to the thought of having another one.  Both of us already agreed on that.  Three is definitely a handful, multiplied by ten! (Hehehe.)

But baby stuff are just so cute, aren't they? I mean, if we only had the money to splurge on things that, you know, aren't really important, I would've gotten our little girl the best bratt décor cribs online.   It's just so cute, and I've always wanted one like this for my babies.  But I guess it's never going to happen now.  I can admire it all I want, but that's it for me right there.  No more shopping for baby stuff!

I guess, the bottom line of all this is, I'm just in denial that my little ones are indeed growing up so fast on us.  Where did the time go?  Why did the time fly by so quickly when they were still little babies?  I don't get it!  I just don't, and perhaps, I never will.

Frost Advisory Tonight

Leave A Note
Yes, it's that time of the year again!  The cold and dreary winter that, perhaps, a lot of people like me dread the most out of the four seasons.  This will be our third winter here, but still, every time I get the same feeling.  I'm not going to lie, though, snow is really beautiful!  The whole surroundings turning into white is definitely a quaint.  But, inasmuch as I want to enjoy playing in the snow, I just couldn't take the cold!  I've gotten used to the cold weather somehow, but still not to the extent where I can stay outside long enough to enjoy every bit of it.  As to when I'm ever going to get used to it? I honestly don't know.

I just can't believe that it's actually coming!  Having this frost advisory tonight just made it even more clear to me that the warm weather is really over, and we'll have to wait for like another 7 to 8 months before we could enjoy it again.  Yes, it can last that long.  Winter here is no joke!  It can last for months, that's why I dread it!  I just hope that my plant outside isn't going to freeze to death tonight.  My husband already tried bringing it inside the house last week, but he had to take it back outside because there were so many bugs all over it.

Well, I guess for now, since it's inevitable, I'll just fix myself some hot and spicy ramen noodle before I call it a night.  It's perfect for this type of weather

Keep warm and stay safe everyone!  Happy weekend!

Learning more about DIYs

Recently, I've been hooked up doing a lot of DIYs at home.  Since I decided to take a break from working out, I've spent my free time on either watching shows or doing some DIY projects.  That's probably one thing you don't know about me - not only am I a farmer's granddaughter, but also a carpenter's.  Yes, my late Grandpa was both, and he taught me some stuff when I was growing up.

Anyway, my husband has a lot of stuff that he mostly have forgotten about.  As a matter of fact, he'd even get surprised if he saw me pulled out something from the basement that, according to him, he didn't even know he had.  While I was doing my little spring cleaning, I did find a lot of things that I knew could still be reused if you only know what exactly to do with them.  I'm so glad my husband has some tools, so I used them to re-purpose the things that I found.  I repainted an old shelf and made it look more decent than how it used to be (a shelf from Ikea), turned a wooden magazine rack into a corner shelf (I also painted it), and a lot more.  If given with materials that I need, not to sound like I'm bragging, I can make things for the house on my own.  Of course, I don't know everything, but I can say, I know more than just the basics.  And thanks to my Grandfather for all that!

Right now, I'm into learning how to "paint like a pro".  Well, if you know what I mean.  I know the basic when it comes to applying paint, but I know I still need some major improvements.  I'm saying this now because here soon, we'll have to move and that means we need to repaint the rooms that need to be repainted, especially the kids' room where they have crayon marks all over the wall.  And speaking of repainting walls, I remember, we also need to fix our couch that got ruined when my husband sat the TV on it while trying to take it out of its box.  It's got a little tear on it, and I've been wanting to just patch it up with anything that could prevent the tear from getting bigger, but I don't know how to paint leather in case I end up using something that's not the same color as our couch.  Another thing on my list that needs to be knocked down.  So much to do in such little time!  I know it's still next year, but it's not going to change the fact that we've got so many to take care of before we can even move out.

I may not be good at DIY, but I'm grateful I know some stuff that could be helpful in case we need them.  It's definitely going to be a Do-It-Yourself thing once we start cleaning the whole house and fixing things what need to be fixed.  So, what better time is there than right now to start learning stuff that I know I'm still not that good at - like what I said, painting.

Let the learning begin!

I'm Afraid It's Back!

Leave A Note
For three days now, I've been feeling sick, and I really, honestly don't know why.  At first, I thought it was just because I lack of sleep that I've been experiencing this weird headache.  It usually starts from my eyes, then, it radiates towards the back of my head.  I'm also thinking maybe it's because I've been watching too much Korean drama series on the iPad that now, it feels like I have motion sickness.  I feel nauseated at times, and it definitely sucks because it makes me not want to do anything for the most part of the day.  Even right now, I already feel sick just staring at the computer and writing.  If my eye problem is back, then I'm literally doomed!

I've had eye problem since I was 9 years old.  I actually started wearing glasses when I was in 5th grade.  I hated it, but I needed to.  My eyesight was so poor I couldn't read what was written on the board, thus, making it hard for me to catch up with our lessons.  I thought glasses would eventually help, but it didn't!  My condition got worse to the point where I had "night blindness" incidents, and it freaked the living out of me!  So, I was taken back to my doctor, and he diagnosed me with glaucoma.  I couldn't believe it at first.  I was in denial because I felt I was too young to have such kind of eye problem.  I was prescribed with an eye drop that I had to administer twice a day, and I used it for 5 years.  I was supposed to have my eye check up again, but I never went back to my doctor.  So now, I  don't know how my eyes are doing.  I haven't been to a doctor for like 6 years now!  My husband already told me to make an appointment so I can find out what's really making me dizzy for these past few days.  I just hate it when I have to make so many appointments and phone calls just to be seen by a doctor that I need.  For example, now, I need to be seen by an Optometrist, but before I could make an appointment with one, I need to call my primary healthcare provider, set up an appointment, then, from there, he can refer me to an eye specialist who takes our insurance.  That's how it works when you're a military dependent.  Hey, just to clarify things, I am not complaining at all!  I'm just saying that sometimes, it really is a pain in the butt when you have to go through all this just to get the healthcare that you need.  But, that's part of it.  And I just wish I could find an Optometrist within our area so we don't have to drive all the way to the military hospital just to get one.  We live almost 40 minutes away, so, yeah, that's another issue.  Dragging all of us (with 3 little kids and in this cold, cold weather) just for one patient, and that far?  I don't think so!

Handmade Lucky Charm

Leave A Note
Ever since I was a little kid, I've enjoyed making accessories out of simple/cheap materials.  I grew up not being able to buy things that weren't important, so I learned how to make them on my own, if I wanted to have them.

I remember, when I was in high school, my friends and I would make bracelets out of colorful nylon strings that were sold at a cheap price.  We called them "tattoo bracelets" because of how they'd fit around your wrist, like that of a tattoo.  We made rings and necklaces, too.  It was so much fun making them!  I learned how to make them through a friend.  It was a bit complicated at first, I must say.  But after a few attempts, I got the hang of it.  It wasn't that hard after all!  And since then, I've enjoyed making them for my friends and cousins.

Now, having a little girl of my own, I want so badly to start making those types of accessories again.  It'll be great if I could add pandora beads onto the bracelet as my little girl's very own handmade lucky charm, courtesy of Mama KC.  I may not be that good at it, but I at least know how to make decent ones.  Of course, I won't let her have it at this age (she's only 1 year and 3 months old), because she's still in the stage where she loves putting everything in her mouth, and small objects like beads are a big NO for her at this time.  I'm thinking of giving it to her when she at least turns 5 or 6, maybe.  Anyway, that doesn't matter.  As long as I know I can already trust her with stuff like that, then that'll be the right time.  I also want to make some for my boys, but knowing their personalities, I doubt if they'd even like them! (Hehehe.)

I think I should ask my husband if he won't mind getting me some materials for this little project.  He actually likes it when I get myself busy again with things that he knows I used to love doing, so I might have a great chance in making him say yes.  I'm crossing my fingers right now!  We'll find out here in a couple of days.

Where Do I Begin?

Leave A Note
Seriously speaking, I really don't know how or where to start right now.  I'm totally at a lost for words!  This has been, I think, the longest time I haven't updated my blog.  Trying to come up with something good to write about hasn't been easy on me in the past few months.  It was like, if I was in the mood to write, I couldn't find anything I wanted to write about.  Or, I just didn't have that feeling to write about them.  And if I wasn't in the mood to compose something that I could post here, that was when I had a lot of things going through my head.  I honestly even hated those times because I wanted so badly to sit here and blog, but I just didn't feel like doing it.  And if I don't feel like writing, I don't force myself to write because I won't be able to finish it!  I guess I just have to sit back, think, and find that motivation in me that I once had.  I can already tell that this isn't going to be easy, but I need to start writing again.

It's almost three in the morning right now, and I'm still here in front of the computer.  I actually am trying to type as quietly as  possible because I'm afraid I might wake my husband up and he's not going to be happy if he found out I'm still up.  He doesn't like me staying up late.  Well, for now, I'd let this slide.  I couldn't sleep anyway, so might as well spend my time on this blog till I get tired.  Writing relaxes me, so I'm hoping this will help me get there.
