C Family's Halloween 2016

Leave A Note
All right, let's take a break for a few.  I've been doing school for hours now, and I feel like my head needs some time off even just for a few minutes.  I've been dragging myself today, actually, just to get stuff done.  I haven't been feeling too good for a few days now.  But just like what the commercial I always see on TV says, "Parents cannot take sick leave".  I believe I started feeling worse after we went out on Halloween to take the kids trick-or-treating.  But, I don't mind at all.  I'm happy with the fact that our babies had a blast.  I just think it has something to do with being out in that cold night with no sweater on.

Our 3 Little Monsters

Anyway, we took our kids to a local church in our area, which hosted a fun-filled Harvest Fest.  It was so much fun that even myself and my husband had a great time.  Apparently, most people from our place go to that event every year, that's why there were so many people there that night.  It was so awesome to see all the kids in their cute/funny/unique costumes, and of course, the parents as well!  Some dressed up, some didn't, like us.  Well, we were thinking about getting us costumes, but decided not to, at the last minute.  The kids got theirs, by the way, so don't worry.  And they got to choose who they wanted to dress up like for Halloween.  Kai dressed up as Optimus Prime.  Gabe's choice was, Storm Shadow (Ninja costume), and for our little Princess, she dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood.  Initially, she wanted to be Cinderella.  But she changed her mind after she saw a photo of herself dressed in Little Red Riding Hood costume on Halloween (2012), when she was 1 year old.  Good thing, their Papa hasn't bought their costumes yet, when she decided she wanted something different, or else, it would have been a waste of money.  Trust me when I say that, that girl won't stop till she gets what she wants.  And I am a hundred percent sure she would've kept asking for the "right costume", had we bought her something she decided on not wanting to wear anymore.  My husband said, she got that attitude from me.  Ha!  I think that's contestable...

Countdown to 5!

2 Sweet Notes
Almost five years of marriage! Can you believe that!?  I cannot even find a single word to say right now that can give justice to how I want to describe our marriage in the last 4 years.  It's already given that we've had our own ups and downs along the way.  After all, no marriage is perfect, and every single couple has to go through trials to strengthen their love, their bond, their commitment to one another.

Just a couple more weeks from now and we will celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary.  I would love to write more about how things were, and how they are now, but I chose to wait till our anniversary is over.  In that case, I can even include about our special day.

So, what do I really expect on our day?  To be honest, like the past 4 anniversaries we've had together, I really could care less if we don't do anything big, if you know what I mean.  It's always been the same thing for me - to spend it with my husband and our kids.  I know some of you might say it's suppose to be our day - just the two of us - but as you can see, we have 3 small kids, and we don't have anybody we know who lives close to us who can watch the kids without us having to worry about their safety.  For now, we're content having to celebrate it at home with the whole family.  Anyway, my husband always comes up with the sweetest surprises ever!  I honestly feel bad that I couldn't do much for him.  I've relied more on online greeting cards for most occasions because I have no means of going out and getting him something to surprise him with without him knowing it, because when we go out, he drives.  But this year, it's our 5th wedding anniversary, and I wan to create something special for him.  I cannot disclose what it is yet.  I'm still learning how to do it, and I hope I'd be able to nail it in time for our anniversary.  And I'll see if there's anything else I can do for him that he won't know anything about.

Well, countdown is officially on!  The closer it gets, the more excited and nervous and anxious I become.  I don't know how else to describe what I feel right now.  It's always a mixture of emotions.  But I definitely am looking forward to it!

I AM BACK!!

Leave A Note
So glad to be back after a week-long vacation in Oklahoma with my family!  We all drove down to visit my mother-in-law, and for the kids and I to meet the rest of my husband's family.  I must say, it was a blast!  We all had a great time!  In fact, the kids (the boys) didn't want to leave yet, and I know it must have been so hard on their Grandma, too to see us go.  I know the feeling.  My husband and I felt the same way as well.  We all wished we could've stayed longer, but my mom-in-law only had a week of leave, and my husband needed to be back, too because his 2-week leave was already almost up.  He actually already reported back to work today, which sucks because, like usual, we missed him and we got used to having him around with us 24/7.  But duty calls, and he needs to go back to work, whether we like it or not.

We left Oklahoma last Monday at 2:30 in the afternoon, and we didn't get home until Tuesday, the next day, at almost 10 in the morning.  That's right, we were on the road for almost 20 hours including our stopovers.  The trip coming back was a lot harder than going there because the kids were uneasy, especially the little girl.  She didn't even want her Papa to stop driving, or she'll wake up from her sleep and would lose it!  It was, no lie, a tough one, but we still, we cannot thank God enough for watching over us and keeping us all safe all throughout the drive back and forth.

It definitely was a vacation to remember!  As a matter of fact, it was our first family trip, too, and God willing, we've already talked about going on another family trip sometime in November.  We're praying that things will work out according to our plans so we all could enjoy another family time in the outside world before the crazy cold winter season comes.
