I found this anchor/infinity tattoo design on the internet a couple of months ago. It really isn't from a tattoo design website or anything, but it gave me an idea of what I would go for if I end up getting inked.
I am a Navy wife, and this one says a lot about it. The Navy's logo has an anchor, so this one is perfect. The anchor would stand for my husband. Plus, it means infinity, and to me, that symbolizes my love and support for him. I will change the bow/ribbon to a sunflower because that's my favorite flower in the whole world. And last but not the least, instead of the plain line, I'd probably put 3 small stars or butterflies in between - for my kids. I don't plan on getting a big tattoo because I want to have it placed either in the back of my left ear, or just a little above my left ankle. As long as it's visible, that will work for me. I just want to be on the safe side. You know, in case I end up regretting my decision later on, at least it's not too big for me to really create such useless bustle about.
I told my husband about this idea, and I think he really won't mind if I actually do it. He even liked the design I came up with, and to me, that's a good thing. I just really have to make up my mind if I want to go for it, or should I hold off for now. We're about to get transferred next year, and we still don't know where. My thing is, if I really want to do it, I would love to get it done before we leave here. But right now, I'm still having second thoughts. And no, it's not because I'm scared of needles. I actually am not scared of them, not even a bit. I would even watch the whole thing - from start to finish - if I can. I mean, I really can't watch them doing it if I decided to have it inked in the back of my ear, can I? I'm just having second thoughts because like what I said, tattoo is permanent. And I don't want to regret my decision later on. That's all.
What about you? Would you want to get one as well?

It is a lovely design and it is a very brave idea. I just don't imagine myself with a tattoo.
Good luck with your decision though. :n
Thank you po! Mas takot ako sa thought na once nagpatattoo ako, anjan na yan for the rest of my life.. Kaya dapat talagang pag-isipan nang maigi.. :c
If you really want it, then go sis! I like the design. I,m sure it will look really nice on you. ;-)
It is your decision. I too have a 'bulldog' tattooed on my right shoulder. Some religious sectors don't buy the idea eh.
That's a nice design. It's quite unique.
I have been mulling about marking my over-the-hill moment but my hubby and daughter (practically, everyone in my circle) are all against the idea. I wanted to ink a rosary in my right forearm, coiled and the cross tattooed on my index finger so when I put my thumb over it, it's as if I was holding it. Kaso, ayaw nila eh. It's more of a religious thing for me to imprint my faith onto the temple of my soul.
So far, all I've heard are negative comments about the idea. But who knows, I might just do it (maybe after I get my promotion first...hahaha!).
Go for it but do think about it a million times. Although there are ink-removals but they are costly and rather painful. Just make sure that you're doing it for the right reason and not for the sake of joining the bandwagon of young people inking themselves.
Let us know when you have finally done it. We want to see how it looks like on you :)
Cute one! I have been wanting to get inked too but I can only be too brave when it's henna, hehehe! I am sure the fiancee would not approve. LOL! So I'd rather forget about it. Hahaha!
i love the design, i have some friends who have small tattoos that are not very obvious and ordinarily visible, you are doing right though, thinking about it million times :) if after thoughtful thinking and you decide to go for it, it is the right choice :)
i also want to have some tattoo as to where and what would it be, i haven't thought of it yet, but having a tattoo is a no no in my present work now, so i might refuse with the idea then again.
Well, it is your decision but for me am not a big fan of permanent tattoo am happy to have henna.
i'd say thanks but no thanks. takot ako sa pain! haha!
i agree, that design would be perfect for you. if lang, i'll get inked (pwede na fake, hehehe) gusto ko ng double infinity. revenge lang ang peg. hehehe!
Wow, we're both married to Navy guys named John hehehe. I am not fond of tattoos so I will never get one!
Hi sis! go ahead and get a tattoo but you should really be decisive about it and find a good artist. i had one and didn't regret it :) i'd like to share my post about it (http://myhappybeginnings.blogspot.com/2012/02/tattoed.html)
Good luck and that's a cool design! :)
That was a good design KC but personally, I don't think I would like to have it myself. LOL
Hubby said that "a tattoo is a permanent sign of a temporary insanity". Hehehe
ok na ba sis? Did you get inked already?
Thats a very nice design if you ever decide to get a tattoo, you should choose that. It marks that you are a navy wife indeed!
