Connecting Both Ends of The World

I cannot be more happier than knowing I am able to communicate again with my old friends back in the Philippines, for free!  Thanks to the technology we have nowadays!  Keeping in touch with people you care about even from a far away distance, has gotten even easier.  You pretty much can have all means of communication available now. Unlike before, it used to take months before you get to hear back from the other person and waiting felt longer than forever.  With internet, computers, and cellphones, staying connected with love ones is but a click away.

Few weeks ago, one of my friends told me about an app on the phone that can be used to send text messages and make calls for free.. At first, I was hesitant because I haven't used such app before and I was afraid it might still charge me if I used it.  But he told me it's 100% free and it actually works good.  So, I gave it a try.  And since then, I've been using it to talk to them.

Now, I get to use it with my friend, Pamela, who's in the Philippines right now.  Good thing, she's got samsung galaxy phone so she was able to download the same app.  We've already talked on the phone for more than an hour, and we keep exchanging text messages anytime of the day, free of charge.  How cool is that?!  Sending SMS alone internationally can charge you an arm and a leg, so anything free is a big help.  Sometimes the connection can be a bit choppy, but I've got nothing to complain about.  If it's keeping us connected in spite of the distance, that's all that counts.

I just hope my family could have the same phone as well.  But living in the province can be a little tough on them, too right now.  They probably won't have a good service as what you'll get if you're the city, so it'll be useless.  It's one of those things you cannot help but deal with.  But who knows, right?  Maybe here soon, they'll have it, too.  Then, I won't have to worry about spending money on phonecards that won't even let me talk to them for long.  I just can't wait for us to stay in touch 24/7 without having to worry about phone bills or phone cards anymore.  They're such a rip-off!
