A Game I Used to Play As a Kid

Leave A Note
Who doesn't know how to play Yo-yo?

I remember being a kid, my friends and I would even bet on this game.  Whoever wins, gets the price.  And usually, we'd bet papers (writing pad) or how much amount of penny we've got left in our pockets.  I've won and lost, but it never really mattered to me as a young kid.  For me, I was doing it for fun.  Winning was just a bonus.  My yo-yo, I remember, was a cheap one.  It took me weeks before I was able to let my grandparents get me one.  We just didn't have money to spend on things that weren't important.  Looking back and thinking about it, if only we had the money, owning an expensive one would've made a big difference.  I mean, if I owned a   Tom Kuhn yo-yo, I would have been the talk of the whole class.  They would have probably thought, it was the coolest thing they'd ever seen.  But like what I said, we didn't have the money.

I'm not saying I'm so good at it, but I somehow know how to play and do small tricks with a yo-yo.  But of course, I don't know if I can play again like I used to because it's been such a long time since the last time I've actually held a one in my hand.  If playing a yo-yo is like driving a car again after a very long time without doing it, I'd probably wreck it.  I think I'll need some practice again.  And talking about this right now just made me miss my entire childhood.  How things used to be so simple, yet I would never change a single thing for the world.  Everything was simple, but for me, everything seemed perfect.
