What would you write if you knew you could?

Leave A Note
Most people write about personal stuff, though some write mostly about everything. Some would even create a compilation of one specific subject matter; may it be about sports, traveling, animals, places, current events, entertainment, and daily living to name a few.

I have read several blogs here on Blogger and I must say, those people really devote time on what they're doing - writing. They spend time writing stories just about any certain topic they come up with. I have read from one blog just a week ago, about a mother's letter to her daughter. I must say, it touched my heart like no other mother-to-daughter letter has ever did before. At first, I couldn't even continue reading up to its last part, as every word she said in there, cut my heart deep enough to make me want to cry. I, myself couldn't even remember the last time I received a birthday card from my mother, so you can't imagine just how much I miss reading her own letters, feeling her love through her written words. I've also read a write-up from a blog and this time it was about how she and her husband met and the path they traveled on just to be together. That story inspired me to write something about my own love's journey. And I might just post it here one of these days. Still working on how and where to begin my story.

I started writing even before I knew I could. It was when I would just simply write at the thought of it. I would write down phrases or words I came up with on my own on any piece of paper I could find. It was my 'sweet escape' when I already felt bored listening to my teacher's an-hour-and-a-half-long lecture in class. It was actually my grandmother who first told me that I should take writing more seriously because she read the simple poems I composed and phrases that I wrote on my own, and she liked them. I was 10 at the time. I didn't take heed of what she said because at the time, for me, writing was a simple pastime. Something as normal as doing seat work and submitting them to your teacher so you'd pass. I still don't think I could write, but I am learning and I want to learn more. That's one thing I started loving about 'blogging'. Not only that I am able to express my innermost thoughts and feelings through writing and share something about us to people, it also helps me enhance and practice more my writing skill. And along the process, I get to learn new things and I get to meet interesting people online who, in many ways or little, have the same interests that I do.

My own blog focuses mainly on our life; inside and out of the military and my life as a Navy wife. But I am not closing the doors to opportunities that might just come knocking for who knows when. I am so more than willing to write about other subjects, too but because I'm only a beginner, I will focus first on "Our Life" topic. I may write topics not really related to what I just mentioned above, but that would be once-in-a-while, just to begin with. I've yet to learn more and make sure I know so much about the things I am going to write so I could be an effective writer and readers would gain something from what I wrote.

In order to gain more knowledge about effective writing, I read books and pointers or guidelines on how to become one. I also give time to read others' articles to get ideas on certain subjects and learn new words and their meanings that I could store in my "word bank" for later use. When I have more knowledge about a certain thing, the more I get inspired to write something about it. I really want to write - someday - a book about our life's story and journey and hope to inspire other people. It's something that I really am hoping I could accomplish. I know it's not easy to write. It takes time, passion, and total devotion. You should be patient and knowledgeable on what you are doing and you must have all the necessary materials needed in order for you to come up with a story or a book that could catch readers attention and interest. It is a dream for me right now, but I am going to do my best to make it happen, with God's help. Everything starts from dreams and they cease only the moment you stop believing they could come true.

So, how about you? What would you write if you knew you could?
