Anniversary or Christmas?

Leave A Note
Since deployment is almost over and our first wedding anniversary is fast approaching, my husband and I couldn't help now but talk about what we're going to do to celebrate our anniversary. During our phone conversation just an hour ago, he said that he would love to spend our anniversary and Christmas with me and the rest of our family, but that is so close to impossible - he can't take leave from work for more than a month!! He then asked me what would I prefer more; celebrating our first anniversary together or him being with me this Christmas. I only have to choose one, obviously though I wanted to say - BOTH!! It was like being asked to choose one from 2 shirts with exactly the same color and design. It was a bit hard for me to give him an answer right away. Of course, I would love to spend our first anniversary together because just like what he said to me, First Year Anniversary only happens once in a lifetime and he would never want to miss it, but I know it would also be great if he could stay for the holiday and be with me and our family. My uncle's family will be hosting a reunion (his wife's side) this Christmas and he's been asking me if my husband could attend - I said I'm not sure. I also would love him to experience what it's like celebrating Christmas here in the Philippines. But I know right now, it's just not possible.

I'm still kind of confused, though we've already agreed on the "anniversary" thing. I still am hoping he'd be able to stay here for Christmas, even if he needs to be back before New Year. Anyway, there's still time to talk about that and I know, in God's own good time, things will fall into their right place. And just like what our grandma would always tell us, if it's God's will, it will happen no matter what. Just pray. Amen.
